KNOW your services and ease pressure on the NHS.

Dorset’s NHS services, particularly emergency departments, are currently facing increased pressure. With this in mind, a reminder is going out to use the right NHS service. This can help to free up emergency services for people who really need them, and could mean you get the right care more quickly.

Dorset’s NHS services are here to help you if you become hurt or unwell, and range from pharmacies (for help with colds, coughs and headaches, etc), to minor injuries units and the urgent treatment centre in Weymouth for sprains, strains and other non-life threatening conditions. Your GP practice may also be able to offer an out-of-hours appointment, which can be booked directly or through NHS 111, and at a time and place that works for you. You can also call NHS 111 if you are not sure where to go, or if you need advice – or visit staywelldorset.nhs.uk for more information.
