A VAUXHALL dealer is to undergo a £200,000 redevelopment over the coming weeks.

Lanehouse Bridport says the three-month project will expand the premises in response to a surge in demand and changing customer needs.

It says it is making a “significant investment” in the dealership, which will gain an upgraded workshop.

The workshop will receive the latest equipment to maximise after sales output and efficiency, the company says, and will be able to cater for more customers, with an extra working bay including a five-tonne ramp that can be used for commercial vehicles.

The retailer will also add a valeting bay and extend the parts department to offer more services and hold more stock, alongside a larger selection of new, used and commercial vehicles.

Dominic Avery, director at Lanehouse Bridport, said: “Over the next three months there will be a lot of work taking place to ensure we continue to meet our high standards. It is a very exciting time for the dealership and this great investment will not only allow us to provide customers with a better retail experience, but it will also create an even more efficient working environment.

“The past year has seen many of our competitors close, leaving local motorists with fewer trusted places to take their car. We see this development as Lanehouse investing in the local community, offering Bridport customers somewhere they can ensure they will receive a honest and satisfying service. Not only that, because of the growth at the dealership, we will also be looking to hire an additional technician.”

The dealership will operate as normal while the work is taking place.
