A TEAM of volunteers who help bring the news to visually impaired people across the county is looking for a new treasurer.

The role at the South West Dorset Talking Newspaper has been fulfilled by Richard Marshall, but he is now moving away from the area.

They are also looking for a technician. This role only requires a few hours work at a time and full training will be given.

A spokesman for the charity said: "We are so grateful to Richard, and all the efforts he has made for us. As a charity with no paid volunteers we must have a treasurer, and really hope somebody will have a little time to spare to help us. We are a friendly team, and we would look forward to welcoming you.

"We provide a weekly round up of local news and a magazine which is supplied to our listeners by memory stick. This service means a lot to our listeners, who otherwise could become very isolated. Our team of many readers, editors, technicians, and administration all work hard to make sure the newspaper is produced each week, and then distributing it to our listeners."

If you are able to help, or for more information on either role, contact Ann Sawtell on 01305782602, or swdtn@btinternet.com
