DORCHESTER Chamber of Business is teaming up with Dorchester BID to help tackle mental health problems in the workplace.

A morning workshop will be held at The Town Hall at the Corn Exchange in High East Street on Thursday, March 28.

The workshop will discuss how early identification of stress triggers at work benefit employees and hard-pressed business owners significantly.

It will be an engaging, informative, interactive workshop designed to provide relief from today’s fast-paced, dynamic and high-stress working environments.

Those taking part will gain an understanding of how to recognise the signs of stress, anxiety and depression, their impact and how to minimise their effects and generate a positive mental outlook.

The workshop will deliver comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the following key areas:

n The signs and impact of stress, anxiety and depression in the workplace

n Understanding the external and internal stress triggers and working through them

n Scientific research on the effectiveness of the applications of mindfulness techniques

n The principles of mindfulness

n Instruction and practice in mindfulness techniques

n Exploring how thoughts and emotions affect our wellbeing

n Developing the art of mindful communication

n Understanding the effect of nutrition on mental health and wellbeing.

Those taking part will also be given a workbook to keep, which will help them improve their journey to greater wellbeing, both at home and at work.

The workshop will be delivered by Zenna Wellbeing in the Workplace and will start at 10am and finish at 1pm.
