Dorset driver John Cartwright is celebrating after being named employee of the year by bus operator, Damory.
Mr Cartwright joined the company in 2014 as a trainee driver but now oversees the operation of service buses and private hire coaches. He is described by colleagues as professional and dedicated –once even choosing to delay his honeymoon during a busy period at work.
He was presented with his award by managing director of parent company Go South Coast, Andrew Wickham, at an annual ceremony.
In recognition of his efforts, Mr Cartwright received £500 worth of vouchers and a framed certificate.
Mr Wickham said: “John has worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserves this accolade.
"He is popular among colleagues and managers alike, and I’m delighted for him.
“Congratulations John – I wish you a successful and enjoyable year ahead.”
