SEVEN amateur boxers got Dorchester's town crier up against the ropes as a warm-up to their big event.
Town crier Alistair Chisholm limbered up and challenged the young fighters to promote their forthcoming tournament.
Luckily, he was saved by the bell before any knock-out punches could be thrown.
The boxing tournament will be held at the Trinity Club in Dorchester on Saturday and will showcase seven boxers - including two girls.
Chairman of the Dorchester Amateur Boxing Club, Coun Mary Penfold said: "We now have more than 150 members, many who train three times a week. We always welcome new members as this sport is greatly enjoyed by all those who participate. It gives our young ones discipline, respect for their fellow men, self-control and of course keeps them fit.
"They will carry their time with the club with them for the rest of their lives."
The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the Trinity Club - costing £10 on the night or £8 in advance, children's tickets cost £5.
