There's not long left to get your tickets for a special evening in aid of fantastic causes.

A charity spring ball will return to Freshwater Club House this month.

The fundraiser, in its second year, is in aid of Weldmar and the British Heart Foundation.

Bridport’s Shelby’s Elbows will headline alongside caricatures from artist Petra Hughes, photography from Paul Brewer and entertainment from magician Chris Howat.

The chosen charities are close to the hearts of organisers Michelle Holmes-Good and Helen Browne.

Michelle said: “Every penny can make difference and if you can do something to help, even just a little, that’s good enough for me.”

Helen said: “Weldmar looked after my husband after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. They also helped me - I have nothing but admiration for them.

“I think everyone has experience with Weldmar - they help so many families. They need to raise a lot of money themselves and if events like ours don’t happen, how will they get it? We want to do out bit.”

The spring ball promises to be a fun-filled evening and an excuse to get dressed up, the two friends say.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and party the night away,” said Helen. “You’ll be raising money, and awareness, for two amazing charities.”

Michelle added: “It’s a fun night out. Last year, everyone really enjoyed themselves and some went all out with their dresses, which was brilliant. But you don’t have to go over the top; it’s just a chance to get dressed up and have a good time. “

The charity spring ball will take place at Freshwater on March 16.

Tickets cost £20, which also includes a one-course meal, raffle and entertainment.

Tickets for the event, which kicks off at 7.30pm and will finish late, are available from Michelle on 07983712156 or Helen on 07762374838.
