Our health is probably the most important thing in our lives.
It is what controls what we can and cannot do. If you have a broken leg, you can’t play sport. If you have a migraine, you can’t be in a bright light. The list goes on.
However, one aspect of health that is usually ignored is mental health. This is ridiculous, as it is probably the most important part of our health in total.
Stress not only has mental effects, such as fatigue, but it affects you physically too. It induces aches and affects physical health.
Anxiety can manifest through physical symptoms such as dizziness, feeling sick and stomach aches.
With poor physical health, most of the time you can heal. However, if you have a poor mental health, then you might not recover at all and it should not be hidden.
You don’t hide a sore throat or a sprained ankle, why should you hide poor well-being?
More needs to be done to help people’s well-being, to ensure full healthiness. Everyone should be as happy as they can be. If you help with mental health issues you should be able to ask for it.
A meagre wellbeing can be the root of fragile physical health too.
