A Portland man has admitted offences relating to the unlawful supply of Manila clams.
Richard Carlyle, aged 75, of Verne Common Road, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to two offences of fraud and one offence relating to food safety, regarding his non-compliance with food traceability requirements.
He is being prosecuted by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council for breaches of The Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013.
Carlyle is also being prosecuted by Dorset County Council for offences under the Fraud Act 2006 and under the Food Safety Act 1990.
The case was adjourned and Carlyle will return to the Crown court to be sentenced on Friday, March 29.
