PAMPERED pooches helped raise £350 for the Marie Curie charity at a fundraising event in Weymouth.

Weymutts Dog Grooming Salon at Redlands held a Doggie Bathathon charity event on March 3 between 9.30am-5pm.

To raise money for Marie Curie charity they bathed and blow-dried 21 dogs of 12 different breeds in about 10 hours.

In total, the salon had managed to raise £323.

Vikki Prout, the owner of Weymutts, said: "It was really good and really busy with lots of dogs. We had only aimed to raise £180 but we collected more than £300 and then a gentleman came in and rounded our total up to £350. I was so shocked that we had managed to raise so much and I am so grateful for the generosity of everyone.

"I had a great time, it was a lovely day and all the dogs were well behaved. We had all sorts of customers, from big fluffy dogs to tiny little ones.

"I will definitely be doing something like this again and now it is something that I look forward to. I might have something planned for the summer but I will let you know."
