PUPILS from Damers First School in Dorchester met Environment Secretary Michael Gove on February 4 to talk about introducing a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) to tackle litter.

Molly, eight years old, said: "Michael Gove listened to us and I think he will put our ideas into action with an 'all in' scheme Every size, shaped bottle and can."

Sofia, eight years old, said: "Michael Gove was very interested to hear what we had been up to with the Campaign to Protect Rural England. I think Michael Gove will act now to make DRS happen.

Austin, seven years old, said: "I was happy he wore our all in badge. I hope we will have a DRS as soon as next year like Scotland."

Indi, seven years old, said: "We would like Michael Gove to hurry up and launch the DRS next year to help reduce litter and plastic in our environment. This will then protect our wildlife, coastline and countryside."

Melessia, seven years old, said: "I hope the pressure we put on that day will make the Government hurry up so we can have a DRS by 2020."

Theo, seven years old, said: "He was very interesting to talk to and he was very supportive in wanting a DRS like Scotland in 2020."

Isla, seven years old, said: "Michael Gove understood what we were saying and I felt he will act sooner rather than later on the DRS."
