THE ‘Six Councils into One’ leaflet enclosed with my council tax demand states three reasons for the amalgamation of Dorset’s nine councils into two new organisations namely1/ Dorset Council and 2/ Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

The leaflet cites 1/The reduction of duplication; To give Dorset a stronger voice nationally; 3/ To better meet the needs of communities across Dorset by bringing all services together in one council, working jointly for local people’. All those reasons are debatable.

The leaflet makes no mention at all of the main reason for this local authority reorganisation which is diktat from the European Union directing the entire EU to be divided into Regions accountable to Brussels. The ultimate intention has always been to eventually govern all of Europe from Brussels. This Regionalisation programme was designed long ago to gradually weaken all individual nation states. The programme is deliberately gradual so that the general population does not notice.

Dorset happens to be in the South West England EU region. To comply with the orders from Brussels, the shire county of Dorset, which was established by King Alfred the Great, was ordered to be divided into two unitary authorities which in fact are EU sub-regions.

All EU regions and sub-regions are allocated recognition numbers from Brussels.

Great Britain voted to leave the EU in the referendum and yet here we are still enmeshed in its administrative clutches.
