A man arrested in connection with an assault in Weymouth town centre will face no further action from police.
He was held after a man aged in his 40s was reportedly assaulted by two men outside Boots in St Mary Street between 2.15am and 2.45am on Friday, March 1.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to serious head and facial injuries.
An 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm but, following enquiries by officers, has now been released from under investigation and will face no further police action.
