I HAVE been reading about the German Shepherd that was let off the lead and allowed to attack and frighten sheep and their lambs, it can’t have been that long ago when land owners could shoot any animal worrying livestock. Given the time that the police will take to get to the scene an animal could attack many more sheep before the police arrive. It would be quicker if there was a warden on patrol armed with a rifle to take care of just that kind of attack. Cheaper to shoot the animal than fining someone £300.
