DORSET Fire Service was alerted to a fire in an industrial unit in Dorchester by a 'quick thinking young person'.
Two retained fire crews were called to an industrial unit at Enterprise Park, Piddlehinton in Dorchester on Wednesday after sparks from a metal spray gun caused a fire.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire service said that the accidental fire on Wednesday afternoon left an extractor fan vent severely damaged.
He said: "The alarm was raised by a quick thinking young person who saw smoke coming from one of the buildings and alerted the fire service."
He added: "This incident highlights the fact that we should all raise our awareness when using domestic and industrial tools inside properties to the dangers that can occur."
