Kingston Maurward and Weldmar Hospicecare have joined forces to launch a music event in Dorchester featuring some of the UK’s top tribute acts.

Music by the Lake will take place on 2nd, 3rd and 4th August with a popular line up and something for all ages and tastes. Friday 2nd August will feature Elton John and Abba tributes, with Bon Jovi and Queen tribute acts taking to the stage on Saturday 3rd August. A Michael Bublé tribute will be the headline of a relaxed Sunday afternoon performance on 4th August with cream teas and fizz.

Music by the Lake 2019 launched just after Christmas and ticket sales are already proving popular with all of the VIP tickets already sold for the Saturday night performance.

There is an early bird discount available on tickets until the end of March for the Friday and Saturday performances and it is expected that all tickets will sell prior to the event in August.

Matt Smith, Director of Fundraising & Marketing from Weldmar Hospicecare said: “We are delighted to be staging this event in partnership with Kingston Maurward. We have been in discussions and planning with them for several months now and we are delighted to see that ticket sales are doing exceptionally well. We are also delighted that this event will not only provide a great night out for residents and visitors to Dorset, but also raise money to enable us to provide vital end of life care to patients within the county, when they are facing one of life’s most difficult journeys.”

As well as the standard ticket prices, there are a limited amount of VIP tickets on sale which include a glass of fizz, snacks, seating on the terrace and more. These are now only available for the Friday night performance.

Kingston Maurward Principal and CEO, Luke Rake, said “We’re really excited to be adding a fixture in the Dorset summer calendar at an iconic venue. Working together with Weldmar means we won’t just ensure people have a great time, but the audience will also know they will be supporting very worthwhile causes at the College and throughout the community.”
