On World Book Day our school does many things to do with reading.

Our school definitely encourages reading, as it is a skill that can help many parts of learning. For example; the more you read, the better your imagination is and the better writer you become. It’s actually fun to read.

All the children got book tokens which gave you a free book or £1.00 off a book.

Katelyn dressed up as the word majestic and I, Chloe, dressed up as the word obviously. Everyone’s costumes were incredible. It was so amazing to see all the smiley faces and everyone happy. There were so many amazing costumes to see.

We did a World Book Week instead of day as reading books is so special. Our class had guided reading comprehension and other activities to do with reading.

On Tuesday, we had an amazing theatre production come in doing a play for us. It was very enjoyable.

We believe World Book Day is very important to celebrate as it encourages people all over the world to read. Katelyn made up a saying about books; read a book, love a book, share a book. Sharing books and saying them out loud to others usually helps confidence too.

See - so many things that all comes from reading. You could even become an author when you’re older.
