A car has crashed into a house, causing severe damage.

It happened at Hemlet's Close, Bradpole. 

Emergency services were called at to the address at 7.30pm last night after a 4x4 crashed into the front of the house. 

Firefighters from Bridport Fire Station attended and crews helped to make the scene safe. 

A spokesman from Bridport Fire Station said the crash caused 'severe structural damage' to the property.

He said: "Nobody was trapped in the vehicle and there were no major injuries reported by either the vehicle occupants or the property owner. An ambulance was requested just to be sure.

"The police attended and were happy no criminal offence had occurred.

"Crews ensured the scene was as safe as possible, advised all involved to keep away from the damaged part of the property and the vehicle. A structural engineer was requested to attend.”

An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were also sent to the scene and a person was treated at the scene with reports of minor injuries.
