Weymouth and Portland Police arrested three people yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, April 2) on suspicion of drug related offences.

Police said a 40-year-old Weymouth man, a 36-year-old local woman and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and are assisting officers with their enquiries.

At around 3.20pm on Tuesday, April 2 police were told about some suspected drug related activity on King Street in Weymouth.

A property was searched and three people were searched and detained by police. A number of wraps containing suspected class A drugs were recovered as well as a quantity of cash.

A spokesperson said: "The team have had a busy afternoon resulting in three people being arrested on suspicion of drugs offences, including drugs supply in the town centre area.

"A large quantity of cash and suspected controlled drugs have been seized and enquires are continuing.

"Many thanks to the many members of public that assisted us in dealing with the matter."
