As trainee reporters for the Echo, we spoke to Sally Odams, a placement officer for Care Studies at Weymouth College. She was here at the festival to promote health and social care courses at the college.
Sally told us: "These courses are really worthwhile and I think everyone should do them! Each year we have about 140 students. I studied at Weymouth myself on a two-year diploma in childcare and now I'm helping arrange work placements for other students."
The best thing about Sally's job is that she isn't stuck in an office all day as her job lets her visit students at their placements and that's what she loves about it.
We enjoyed chatting to Sally and could tell how much she really loves her job. Before we came to the Skills Festival we hadn't really thought about childcare, but now it's an option we are considering!
