A SOCIAL housing company was forced to take out an injunction order against a man after his 'unacceptable behaviour' caused distress to its residents.

Weymouth and Portland Housing (WPH) obtained a 12-month injunction against Anthony Slater who had refused to leave one of its properties in Broadwey Close, Littlemoor, Weymouth.

WPH said that the complaint was made because of Mr Slater's drunken behaviour.

A resident had complained about the high level of anti-social noise and disturbance caused by Mr Slater when he was visiting another tenant.

WPH anti-social behaviour officer Christine Wallis said: "Anthony Slater was seen on a number of occasions entering an address in Broadwey Close and on more then one occasion his behaviour was unacceptable."

The injunction lasts for a year and will prevent Mr Slater from entering any of the houses in Broadwey Close.

WPH managing director Kevin Dey said: "The company continues to take firm action when necessary and will not hesitate to use the full force of the law when evidence is available.

"All action is taken in close liaison with the police and is testimony to the excellent and very difficult work carried out by my staff."

If Mr Slater breaches the injunction, he will get taken back to court and could face a possible two-year imprisonment.
