WEYMOUTH seafront will be ablaze with colour for a charity run next weekend.

A Bright for Sight Night Run will be held in aid of Dorset Blind Association on Saturday, April 13.

There will be both a 5k race and a 10k race, which cost £15 to enter.

The event will be held from Weymouth Pavilion.

Registration will open at 7.30pm, with races starting at 8.30pm.

A spokesman for Dorset Blind Association said: “Following on from our hugely popular Bright for Sight Night Run on Boscombe Seafront, we have brought our fun run to Weymouth Seafront! We want you to help mark this special occasion by going 'Bright for Sight' and taking on our 5k or 10k Night Run. So, get your glow sticks, head torches and neon paint at the ready!”

To celebrate 100 years of Dorset Blind Association, the charity is encouraging runners to go the extra mile by raising £100 in sponsorship, which would enable 20 vulnerable people to be visited in their homes by volunteers.

The charity spokesman added: "Simply set up an online giving page, go to: justgiving.com/dorsetblind

"Complete the sponsorship form that you will receive upon signing up.

"Bright for Sight glow packs are available to purchase in advance and are to be collected on the night. This includes everything you need to be glow-ready; neon paint, glow sticks, a neon tutu and more."
