A teenage crew member of a tall ship was airlifted to hospital following a rescue operation.
A spokesman from the RNLI confirmed that the lifeboat was launched from Weymouth after the alarm was raised.
"We were paged at around 11.39 this morning, and the lifeboat was called to the tall ship Thor Heyerdahl, about 20 miles south of Portland Bill", they said.
"A Lee-On-Solent rescue helicopter arrived, so the lifeboat crew returned to shore.
"The boy had an injured hand and was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital".
