HALLOWE'EN fun is promised at a Pumpkins in the Park party.

Young witches and wizards are invited to dust off their broomsticks and head to Greenhill Gardens on Weymouth seafront on Saturday, October 27.

Those on foot can follow the Bat Trail along the Esplanade to the gardens for an afternoon of storytelling, mask making and spooky fun.

Pumpkins will line the gardens and children entering the haunted house will be entertained by a wacky wizard.

Hot dogs and hot drinks will be on sale and there will be a lucky dip cauldron. Artists under the age of 12 are invited to paint a spooky picture and will have the opportunity to win a prize.

Friends of Greenhill Gardens vice-chairman Barbara Dubben said: "Pumpkins in the Park is in its second year and we hope that it's an even bigger and better party than last year.

"We hope that people will come along and join in the fun.

"Any money raised will be reinvested back into the gardens so that everyone can benefit."

The party will be held from 2pm-4.30pm. Entries for the art competition should be sent to Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, Crookhill Depot, Chickerell Road, Weymouth, DT3 4DQ by Monday, October 22.
