Weymouth is set for a bumper bank holiday weekend after being named as one of the top UK destinations this Easter.

With temperatures set to soar, there's added good news after the resort was singled out as one of the top trending Airbnb destinations for Brits over the Easter Bank Holiday.

Bookings are said to be up 130 per cent compared to the Easter break last year.

Weymouth is placed third in Airbnb's top 10.

Lyme Regis (10th) and Bournemouth (7th) also made the list.

Georgie Stickland, owner of Pebble Lodge in Weymouth, listed on Airbnb, said they are booked up for Easter.

"Guests love the beautiful seaside scenery - combined with the bustling town and harbour area, Weymouth is a fantastic place to holiday", she said.

"Our Easter guests are very excited to arrive.”

Jane Biscombe, town clerk of Weymouth Town Council said: "This confirms what we all know – that Weymouth is a wonderful choice for a staycation.
