STAFF at Dorset housing group Aster have officially completed it’s first challenge to raise money for its chosen cause for the year, Cancer Research UK.
Throughout March, more than 160 Aster workers took on the Walk All Over Cancer challenge, committing to walking at least 10,000 steps a day, and raising money in the process.
Together, they managed to walk over 50 million steps – the equivalent of Devizes, where Aster’s head office is based, to New Zealand – raising £6,207 for the charity.
Nick Johnson Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for the south, said: “The employees of the Aster Group are an absolute inspiration and we can’t thank them enough for their commitment to helping Cancer Research UK beat cancer sooner. It’s a fantastic partnership."
As part of its commitment to give back to the community, the company match funds staff fundraising but double match funds anything raised for the chosen charity.
