The A35 westbound was partially blocked near Dorchester after a caravan crashed into the central reservation.
Dorset Police were called at 11.27am to reports of a caravan that had gone into the central reservation westbound on the Puddletown Bypass.
The road has now been cleared.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said the incident happened one mile before the A354 junction.
He added: “The caravan is being pulled to a nearby layby, but part of the central reservation is damaged.”
There are not believed to have been any serious injuries.
Police officers are investigating how the crash occurred.
