A Weymouth coach company has invested £500,000 in new fuel efficient vehicles.

Bluebird Coaches of Weymouth, which celebrates 95 years in business this year, has invested in two brand new coaches as the new Ultra Low Emission Zone regulations come into force in London.

Martyn Hoare, of Bluebird Coaches, said: "It is vital that we continue to invest in new vehicles to meet new London Ultra Low Emission Zone rules and to give our customers the very best in terms of comfort and technology.

"We are proud to announce the acquisition of two new 53 seat luxury coaches. Both vehicles have the very latest in fuel-efficient emission reducing technology and meet Euro 6 engine regulations.

"Recent legislation means that coaches that don’t meet the Euro 6 requirement will not be allowed into central London unless they pay a fine of £100."

The new VDL Futura coaches, which were manufactured in Holland, are equipped with 53 reclining seats with leather headrests and cushions, adjustable footrests, three point seat belts, folding tables and magazine nets. The vehicles also have WiFi connectivity for passengers, air conditioning, and a toilet with a hot air hand dryer.
