A woman who was arrested in connection with a reported assault with a glass bottle at an illegal rave has been released under investigation.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.34pm on Sunday, April 21 that a woman aged in her 20s had been struck by another woman with a glass wine bottle at the site of an unauthorised gathering at Wytch in Corfe Castle, near Wareham.

Around 1,000 people are reported to have attended the gathering, and police seized sound equipment after 100 calls from residents.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a broken hand and laceration to her face.

A 21-year-old woman from Gloucestershire was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. She has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
