The annual stand-up paddleboard race will return this summer as part of Weymouth Lifeboat Week.

It will take place on Thursday, August 1 at Ferrybridge and is being hosted by Weymouth Watersports and Fitness Club.

A spokesman from the club said: “We’re hosting out RNLI Charity Team Stand-up

Paddleboard (SUP) Race again this year. It’s open to everyone, regardless of ability. There will be team relay races and team races on our two jumbo SUPs.”

A minimum of five people are required per team with a maximum of 10 people taking part. Each team must donate a minimum of £50, the recommended donations is £10 per person. All entry fees go to the RNLI and there’s no charge for the boards.

The entry feel is payable on the day but must be paid in cash. The event will open at 6pm with races starting at 6.30pm off the beach.
