DIRECTORS of a Weymouth vending company are anticipating a successful third year.

Gavin Borthwick, 32, and Glenn Borthwick 40, marked the second anniversary of Devon and Dorset Vending Ltd this October.

Now they are looking ahead to another successful year. The duo said that at the end of their second year profits had doubled from their first year.

Gavin Borthwick said: "From our initial concept we decided to source only the top-performing vendor from a select number of countries. The business has rolled out so quickly as word spread of the exciting machines we have available. From just five machines we now have in excess of 400 machines in more than 250 sites.

"We are proud to stock Spain's leading bar snack, Salysol, the Salvador Dali-inspired lollies Chupa Chups and the Gashapon toy vendor from Japan."

Mr Borthwick added: "We have more than 120 lines of children's toys and bar snacks.

Returns "There are more than 100 vendors to choose from too. The healthy returns that site owners share with us ensure our machines are loved wherever they go.

"The great news is that the site owner pays not one penny but shares the profits with us."

Their portfolio of sites include holiday parks, leisure centres, nightclubs, pubs and health spas.

They are in Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Avon and Somerset.

Items on sales include bouncy balls, Pringles, bar snacks and jewellery.

Mr Borthwick said that businesses had remained loyal to them in their first two years, with many sites doubling their requests for vendors.

He added that this was largely due to the family nature of the business where service and reliability were key priorities.

The company has formed an alliance with Luca Srl, a leading Italian vending company.

Mr Borthwick recently met with its production manager to discuss new innovations for the 2008 to 2009 season.

He came away buoyed with new exciting ideas in children's rides and mobile phone vending.
