THE Friends of Portland Museum will be holding their AGM on Thursday, October 18, and this will be followed by an open meeting.
The part to be played by the FPM within the new management of the Portland Museum Trust will be discussed during the open meeting.
Chairman John Culley said: "The FPM have undertaken to support this new management structure, both by providing museum expertise and training and by recruiting the substantial number of volunteers needed to assist in all aspects of the operation of the museum."
Those attending the meeting will hear that FPM will be forming Portland Beehive, a Community Interest Company (CIC).
This will be a separate umbrella' organisation which will provide office and storage space for FPM in supporting the trust and make facilities available for their own projects and those of other cultural and historical groups on Portland.
The meetings will be held at Community 2000 in Straits with the AGM, which members of the public are welcome to sit in on, starting at 7pm and there will be a short break for refreshments before the start of the open meeting.
