POOLE’S Twin Sails Bridge was out action this afternoon.
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council said the bridge had a “fault” which resulted in it being in the raised position.
All motorists were advised to use Poole Bridge.
A spokesperson said: “We apologise for the inconvenience and will update you when the situation is resolved.”
A subsequent statement said the issue had been repaired and the bridge successfully completed a lift at 5pm.
