Families are invited to a day of fun at a charity Bubble Rush event next month.

Weldmar Hospicecare, a Dorset charity that helps provide end of life care, will hold its annual Colour Run and Bubble Rush events at Lodmoor Country Park.

These are family fun days which involve colour and bubble themed obstacle courses to raise money for the charity.

This will be the fifth year of the Colour Run and the third year of the Bubble Rush.

Matt Smith, Director of Marketing and Fundraising for Weldmar, said: “The Colour Run includes some fantastically fun inflatable obstacles and you will covered from head to toe in brightly coloured powder and the Bubble Rush provides long corridors of brightly coloured foam throughout the route.

“We are expecting thousands of people to join us again this year but registrations will be closing very soon, so don’t miss out.

“All the money that is raised from the Colour Run and Bubble Rush events helps fund the continuation of vital end of life care provided by Weldmar Hospicecare as we support patients through one of life’s most difficult journeys.

“It’s only made possible because of the continued support of our local community.”

The Bubble Rush involves taking on a 4km course while passing through ‘bubble stations’, at which participants will be covered in colourful foams.

The Colour Run is another course where participants scramble through inflatable objects and get covered in colours.

This is the last year for both events, as Weldmar are to announce something new for 2020.

The Colour Run will happen on Saturday May 11, where two runs will take place at 11:30am and 2pm.

The Bubble Rush will take place on Sunday May 12, and there will be two runs at 11.30am and 1.15pm.

Weldmar Hospicecare offers a range of services to assist with end of life care and support for people and families.

75 per cent of their funding comes through money raised through the community, while the remaining 25 per cent comes from the NHS.
