A 79-year-old woman killed when her car was in collision with a Waitrose lorry has been named as Kathleen Joan Gibson.

Mrs Gibson, aged 79, of Parsonage Street, Fontmell Magna, near Shaftesbury, died at the scene of the collision on the A31 near Bere Regis on Thursday, April 18.

An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned in Bournemouth by Acting Dorset Coroner Brendan Allen.

Mr Allen heard that initial inquiries suggest Mrs Gibson's silver Peugeot car pulled out of a junction into the path of the lorry. She died of multiple injuries at the scene.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene at the turn-off to Winterborne Kingston.

The driver of the lorry, a 63-year-old man from Berkshire, was not hurt.

The inquest will resume in December.
