A PLAN to replace a former Weymouth hotel with three blocks of flats is going back before councillors on Wednesday.
The proposal to redevelop the Sunnywey Hotel in Kirtleton Avenue received the backing of planners at a meeting earlier this year.
But developer Rose Homes wants to increase the number of flats from 35 to 38 so it must submit a new planning application.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council planning manager Simon Williams says in a report to the Planning and Traffic Committee that because the principle of the layout has already been approved, the main issue is whether three additional units can be satisfactorily accommodated within the scheme.
He concludes that providing an agreement is signed requiring the developer to pay £26,660 towards open space and other conditions are met, the scheme should be supported.
