A charity which provides wellbeing and drug prevention support to 30,000 children across the region has publicly thanked a law firm for its support.

Life Education Wessex, known to many for its popular giraffe mascot Harold, thanked Ellis Jones Solicitors for its “invaluable support” as it renewed its sponsorship of the charity.

The firm also sponsored this year’s quiz at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, which raised more than £10,600 for the charity and attracted 32 teams.

Life Education’s fundraising manager Lorraine Hewitt said the support was “hugely appreciated.”

“The backing we receive from Ellis Jones and other sponsors is invaluable and we can’t thank them enough.”

Ellis Jones’ managing partner Nigel Smith said: “Children today are under ever-increasing pressure and temptation to engage in behaviour that damages their health and their futures.

“This is why Life Education’s work is so important.

“We are very happy to support them in helping these children to lead healthy and happy lives.”

Life Education Wessex works with children aged three to eleven, parents and teachers to improve the wellbeing of young people, as well as helping them avoid risky behaviour that may damage their health and future.

The charity uses a mobile classroom called the ‘Life Bus’ to travel to schools, where experienced educators give age-appropriate lessons to classes.
