A charity for people with learning disabilities was given a late Easter present of a selection of chocolate eggs.

Brewery Square in Dorchester hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt event over Easter weekend last month and has now donated the remainder of its eggs to People First Dorset.

People First Dorset is an organisation based in Dorchester for people with learning disabilities. It aims to encourage its users to speak up and bring around change, as well as becoming a part of their community, create a social life, and learn important life skills.

Laura Kerr, manager at People First Dorset, said: “We continue to appreciate the support from Brewery Square in enabling people with learning disabilities in Dorchester to be included.”

William, a People First Dorset member, said: “Thank you to everyone at Brewery Square for your kind donation of some chocolate to us all at People First Dorset. We will use it for special treats.”

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, said: “Despite a hugely successful Easter weekend we had a selection of eggs left over and wanted to pass on the joy so we decided to donate the chocolate to a worthy cause.”
