Sainsbury's Wareham will be holding a 'Big Birthday Bash' to raise funds for the town's Rex Cinema next Saturday.

The event, which ties in with the cinema's 100th birthday celebrations, will see staff members dressing up as Sainsbury' s staff from 1869 upwards.

There will also be games, live music and other activities in-store to help with the fundraiser.

A store spokesman explained: "The Rex Cinema is a self- funded charitable organisation. They will be turning 100 Years old this year themselves.

"Unfortunately, where the building is so old, they don’t have any disabled accessible toilets, making it very difficult for anyone with disabilities to attend The Rex.

"We do have many people in our community, young and old, who are disabled and I know that they would very much like to attend the cinema whenever they’d like to, like everyone else and not have to travel for miles.

"This is why we, as a store, would like to help raise money, in order to install disabled accessible toilets in The Rex cinema, so that anyone and everyone can attend."

The birthday bash is scheduled for Sainsbury's Wareham on Saturday, May 25, between 10am-4pm.
