THE FAMOUS Dulux dog gave a helping 'hound' to charity at the opening of a home decorating shop in Dorset.

Painters, decorators and members of the local community were welcomed to the new Dulux Decorator Centre in Blandford Forum by the town's mayor, councillor Roger Carter.

Guests were also treated to a great British breakfast bacon roll.

To celebrate the store opening, Dulux Decorator Centre has donated £500 worth of products to a charity - Teddy20 - to help them continue their inspiring work, supporting families of children suffering from cancer.

Dorset based Teddy20 was founded in 2014 and provides emotional and financial support for families of children and young adults fighting cancer.

Joe Chandler, store manager of the new decorator centre handed over the donation.

“Opening the store in Blandford Forum is an exciting move - the team and I can’t wait to be part of the community, starting by supporting the work that the incredible team at Teddy20 does".

Customers who attended the grand opening, also received double nectar points on any purchases made and a complimentary goody bag including a t-shirt, travel mug, beanie, paintbrush and more.

Owen Newton, co-founder of Teddy20, said: “We are extremely grateful to the newly opened Dulux Decorator Centre for their generous donation of materials.

"Their gift will enable us to continue our packed calendar of fundraising events and activities and will definitely come in useful for our Ted’s Shack respite holiday home maintenance and also Teddy Rocks 2019 signage.

“We hope that the Blandford Forum store will really become part of the local community and that our experienced store colleagues can lend a hand where possible.”
