FORMER Weymouth Football Club player-manager Steve Claridge was committed for trial today accused of dangerous driving.
Claridge, 41, spoke only to confirm his personal details and to elect Crown Court trial during a brief appearance at Coventry Magistrates Court.
The media pundit, of Fareham, Hampshire, is accused of driving a Peugeot 307 dangerously on the M42 in the West Midlands on December 30 last year.
He was granted unconditional bail to appear at Coventry Crown Court on December 6.
Claridge, who played for Leicester City, Birmingham City, Portsmouth and several other professional clubs, was sacked as manager of Weymouth FC in September 2004, 15 months into a £1,000 a week five-year contract.
