A water sports company is hosting water safety training days this year to educate the people of Dorset on how to stay safe along our coastline.

According to the National Water Safety Forum at least 590 people sadly die from drowning in the UK every year.

To combat this, Land and Wave in Swanage is running £1 SUP Safety and Rookie Lifeguard sessions over May and June. These are a chance for local people to come along and improve their knowledge of how to stay safe when out on the water. So don’t delay and get booked on now - these sessions will fill up fast.

Land and Wave works with the RLSS and RNLI to ensure all the instructors are up to speed with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep customers and staff safe during every session.

Stay safe on your SUP courses will be held on May 19 and June 23. The courses last two hours and cost £1 per person. Just bring swimwear and a towel.

As well as practical skills whilst out on the water you will be taught about how to stay safe on the water, with tips provided by the RNLI.
