VINTAGE motor enthusiasts will be touring the Dorset countryside in classic cars over the bank holiday weekend to raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

The Weymouth Vehicle Preservation Society’s Dorset Tour 2019 will be returning for its 31st year on Sunday, May 26.

The vintage vehicles will be departing from Lodmoor Country Park in Weymouth at 9am before travelling along a scenic route through the stunning Dorset countryside, featuring points of interest and places where participants can stop and enjoy lunch or take in the sights.

The convoy will finish back at Lodmoor by 3pm for the static display and judging by the new Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Graham Winter.

This year's event will be sponsored by Ward Goodman, an accountancy firm based in Dorset. The company's managing director, Ian Rodd, will be taking part in the upcoming tour.

He said: “We are delighted to join classic and vintage vehicle owners and fans as they set off across the country in this popular annual event, which has been running for three decades and has raised over £80,000 during this time, contributing to funds of local charities such as this year’s beneficiary Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.”
