A new Starbucks Drive Thru has created 14 new jobs for the Weymouth area.

The branch, at the top of Chickerell Link Road near Aldi, opened last Friday.

The new jobs include baristas and supervisors.

Kathryn Osborne, store manager at Starbucks Euro Garages on Chickerell Link Road, said: “The store team is excited to get to know our new community and to work with organisations in the area, including our local charity partners at the Weymouth RAF Air Cadets.”

The 1606 Squadron RAF Air Cadets attended the opening of the shop. The air cadets are a youth organisation that aims to teach young people about aviation, leadership and other skills.

Rob Todorov, regional manager for Starbucks, said: “We wish to embed ourselves in the community and will be asking our customers what they would like to see next from their local Starbucks.

“Examples from our other stores include charity quiz nights, open mic nights and sponsored events.

“We have a great team of baristas and supervisors led by our store manager, Kathryn.”

The Dorset Echo previously reported that a branch of the bakery chain Greggs intends to open a store on the same site.
