THE best, brightest and most beautiful gardens in Dorset are being sought for a new charity initiative.

Diverse Abilities, which supports disabled children and adults across the county, is looking for local gardens big and small to be opened to the public between June and August, to raise funds.

Already signed up to the initiative is Parterre at Keyneston Mill in Blandford, which will be open on Monday, July 1 and will donate a percentage of the entrance fees to Diverse Abilities as well as raising funds on the day.

Daisy Roe, corporate and community fundraiser for the charity, said: “We are very excited about our first Open Gardens initiative and very thankful to Parterre for signing up. If you have a garden you are proud of and are happy to open it up to the public to help us raise vital funds, for children and adults living with disabilities across the county, then come and get dug in. You can open for a full day or just a few hours.”
