A MAN suffered a head injury and lost consciousness after falling down a steep section of track on the Jurassic Coast.
The incident happened yesterday (Monday, May 20) at Durdle Door.
The Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked with rescuing the casualty.
The deputy station officer (DSO) and coastguard rescue officers (CROs) arrived on scene within six minutes of receiving the emergency call.
A spokesman for the Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team said: “On arrival at Durdle Door car park, the two met with paramedics who’d just arrived.
“The 4x4 was used to transport equipment and paramedics to the casualty’s location.”
More officers then attended the scene to offer their assistance.
He added: “After an initial assessment, the paramedics decided to use the coastguard 4x4 to transport the casualty to the top of the track, to their ambulance for a more detailed assessment.
“The team assisted with the transfers and transported kit back up to the top of the hill.
“With the casualty safely in the back of the ambulance and the care of the paramedics the team were stood down and returned to their respective day jobs.
“Thanks to the Lulworth Estate staff who provided first aid and helped with access. We wish today’s casualty a full and fast recovery.”
