A LOCAL animal rescue centre is hosting a dog show fun day to raise much needed funds to continue its work.
Margaret Green Animal Rescue’s annual GroundDog Day event is taking place on Sunday, May 26 at Lincoln Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Winterborne Kingston.
The day will help celebrate the end of Margaret Green Week (19th -26th May), which this year encourages dog owners to pledge their regular dog walks during the week to the charity and therefore take part in the Big Green Dog Walk.
GroundDog Day, now in its third year, centres around a novelty dog show with fun categories, including Best Trick, Best Rescue Dog, Most Appealing Eyes and Fastest Tail Wagger.
In addition, there will be an agility display from Moonlight Agility, as well as the chance to have a go yourself.
There will be local trade stands, refreshments, homemade cakes, ball bobbing, a dog lucky dip, a splash zone, pre-loved doggie items for sale and games for all.
Gates open at 11am and entry is free, although donations are welcomed. Dog show class entries are £2 each or six classes for £10. Classes are open to all dogs over six months old. No bitches in season.
