Bradbury's, a long-established newsagents in St Edmund Street, Weymouth, is to be converted into a pizza takeaway.
Planning permission for the change of use has been agreed by a planning officer at Dorset Council. The application was not taken to a committee.
It was submitted by Natalie Hurford who says that the newsagents, which also sold sweets and tobacco, is no longer viable.
The new business will see a gas-fired oven installed to sell freshly baked pizzas to order, along with changes to the shop front and signs.
Conditions of use include opening hours of not more than 8.30am to midnight. The building lies within the town Conservation Area but is not a listed building.
- Bradbury's relocated to the Weymouth seafront business Toucies earlier this year.
