A witness appeal has been launched after a sexual assault on a woman while she was in her car.
The incident happened sometime during the mid-afternoon of Thursday, May 16 in the Five Bridges layby on the A30 near to Henstridge.
But it was reported to police on Saturday, May 18.
The victim, who is a woman aged in her 40s, was sitting inside her blue car when an unknown man opened the door and sexually assaulted her.
Detective Sergeant Dave Horn, of Weymouth CID, said: “A full investigation is underway in relation to this incident and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
“I am appealing to anyone who was passing the layby at the relevant time and may have witnessed the incident to please contact Dorset Police.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a red car near to a blue car.
“Finally, I would appeal to any motorists who were driving along the A30 on that afternoon with dashcam fitted and may have captured either of these vehicles to please call me.”
