Fireworks will light up Weymouth Bay tonight

A Mayor's Celebration Fireworks Display has been organised by Weymouth Town Council to recognise the formation of the new authority.
Mayor of Weymouth Graham Winter has been busy promoting the free event which will take place at 9.45pm tonight.
The return of summer fireworks will be welcomed by families flocking to Weymouth for the holiday weekend and half-term next week.
Saturday's Echo offered the chance to win £500 in a competition organised by the town council with support from Alexandra Gardens Pleasure Grounds.
The completed entry form must be brought to Alexandra Gardens and the draw will be made on the seafront at 9.30pm on Sunday before the display.
The Danter funfair will be set up on the Pavilion forecourt over the bank holiday weekend and throughout half-term (open 2pm-10pm).
Weymouth Town Council Clerk, Jane Biscombe said: “We are delighted to announce the hosting of a fabulous seafront firework display. The display will be host by the Weymouth mayor and recognise the formation of the new Weymouth Town Council.”
